The International Monetary Fund has sharply cut its forecast for world growth this year. In an interview to mark the publication of an update to its World Economic Outlook, the Chief Economist to the IMF, Olivier Blanchard, said the euro area is likely to fall into a mild recession affecting the rest of the world.
